Cutlets – Kotlety Mielone – Ania’s Polish recipe #11


  • 500 grams minced meat
  • 1 bread roll
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 egg
  • salt and pepper
  • bread crumbs
  • oil for frying


  1. Soak the bread roll in the milk for few minutes.
  2. Chop the onion very thoroughly.
  3. Put the meat in a large mixing bowl. 
  4. Squeeze excess milk from the bread roll. 
  5.  Add the bread roll to the meat. 
  6. Add onion, egg, salt and pepper and mix for at least 5 minutes.
  7. Form cutlets. Roll them in the bread crumbs.
  8. Fry on few tbs of oil on medium high heat. Serve!

    What % of ground meat do you you use?

    We make hamburgers using a somewhat similar recipe, no bread but add the bread crumbs to the mixture plus BBQ sauce and McCormick Grill Mates seasoning. We use 80 to 85% ground meat.
