Slow Cooker Pork Hocks and Cabbage – Golonka z Kapusta z Wolnowaru – Recipe #158

Ingredients:



  • 1 kg pork hock
  • 1 kg sauerkraut
  • 3 carrots
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • All spice
  • 2 cups broth
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Fry the meat on couple of tbs of oil until golden brows on each side. 
  2. Peel off the potatoes and carrots then cut into large cubes. Cut the onion in chunks. 
  3. Combine all ingredients in crock pot with the meat on top.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
  5. Remove the bones and cut the meat before serving.

  • Excellent! I’ve very good luck slow cooking hocks. Some boil them for 1 1/2 hour. Not me! I want to capture ALL the flavor. Caraway does seem to add a good taste also. Usually I marinade them in beer overbite, in a plastic bag.
