Stuffed Bell Peppers – Papryka Faszerowana – Recipe #81


  • 4 red bell peppers
  • 250 g minced turkey
  • 100 g white mushrooms
  • 1/4 of a medium onion
  • 1 cup of chicken stock
  • 1/4 cup of rice
  • 1/4 cup of tomato purée
  • 1/2 a tsp of marjoram
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1 egg


  1. Put the rice in a saucepan and add 1/2 cup of water and pinch of salt. Cook on low until all the water is absorbed. Keep checking on it ofter because it tends to burn very quickly. 
  2. Wash your bell peppers and then cut off the tops. Clean the inside and set aside. 
  3. Cut the onion very finely.
  4. Wash and chop very finely the mushrooms.
  5. Transfer the minced meat to a mixing bowl. Add salt, marjoram, grated clove of garlic, chopped onion, chopped mushrooms, egg and the tomato puree. Mix all very well.
  6. Stuff the bell peppers and arrange in a baking dish. Pour the chicken stock into the baking dish and bake in preheated to 180 degrees Celsius oven for 50 minutes.
